Lol, Harry---yeah, this pump has had more youthful days. But its age makes for a splendid photo. Such deep rust reds in the middle of all that green and winter-ized brown. The water in the background makes for a fine composition. As does the tree to the pump's right. And there's something sticking out of the pump, on our right---I THINK it's connected to the pump: I don't know pumps, so I can't tell what it is...but it looks like a space helmet from a 50's sci fi film!! Whatever it is, it's fascinating (it almost looks like some kind of observatory or planetarium in the background. Or like someone landed overnight. Hey, it could happen...) Really well composed, and that rich red hue is the capper for the piece. Amazing looking structure too...ya don't see too many of those hanging out on the corner, in Chicago...
