Description

2 more fog shots. Hope you're not tired of the lake: I didn't intend to post so many lake shots, but it's kinda become a 'series'. So hope you enjoy... Thanks for your kind visits, as always they're always appreciated. Mark (these are both large, so better zoomed...)

The fog gives wonderful depth to this very serene snap of your favorite Lake and shoreline, Mark. Everything looks so neat, clean and manicured, even the lake. Sterling perspective and subtle contrast, plus, the body of water appears amazingly placid compared to your previous photos.

what catches my eye first is the expanse of the huge volume of thin air with a few color spots lining on the yellow curve of the shore, I love this sort of works where the space and air and light are most vivid and inviting, so well done, Mark!

The more obscured the skyscrapers the better! A most satisfying composition , and Nikolay puts it well. I suppose that normal looking building must be loos?!

Wow! This is an area I haven't really visited lately, and I really should! I love the intense colors in this, which is quite a feat considering the fog, but then Chicago offers some of the most intriguing fog, especially in the morning. I love the fact that the downtown core of the city is softened, but the beach itself is crisp and clear: what a wonderful re-ordering of priorities...something this city sorely needs. I love the composition here, it's a really appealing Fibbonacci Spiral: actually it's two of them overlapping, which sets up an interesting resonance...you can see them along the lower left to upper right diagonal, which for me, is where all of the excitement in this photo seems to reside, not that there are unexciting parts, I guess it's like the city of Kalimba in a sense...two coins eclipsing each other: whichever coin is dominant depends on your perspective, but both coins exist and define the shape of the city being seen...well, that's my take on it. I really love this. Fog is such an amazing thing (and it's really hard to capture it well, but you've done a brilliant job here,) and this is a compositional marvel. I love that!

What a peaceful place and I love the view to the city with the beautiful morning fog. I would love to have a walk on that beach in the same time of the day, that you captured this wonderful mood, Mark :-)

Mark, I think this is an absolutely wonderful Lake shot and a great idea for a series. You are so right to focus on the fog as it adds a wonderfully mysterious atmosphere to the photo. This looks like an ideal location to go for long walks during the early morning hours.

The fog coats everything with magic and mystery; you got a lovely composition with that beautiful curving beach and the pier/breakwater at the horizon anchors it so well. Magnificent image, another I could stare at for hours!

I never get tired of seeing this lake, because it is so massive and always changing. And you always find a way to make it more personal.
