Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

It looks so very fine, like wood that is alive.

A magnificent piece! And wood all the way through. No sawdust, no particle board. The mirror looks like a doorway into another room or world perhaps.

My wardrobe door is a big white metal door that makes racial slurs at me while I'm sleeping---it's nothing like these two doors! The full shot on flickr is quite commanding: This is in your bedroom? It's stunning there, esp with the reflection of the other side, in the mirror. And those cabinets on either side: Are those your bottles? It looks like a dazzling collection. I'd go wild seeing all of those in one place, esp with my love of your bottle series, here. Anyway...both of the shots, here, are rich in those red browns and the play of light off the wood carvings. It's beautiful; and you've maintained it in fine condition too. It looks like it should house 300 year old gowns and jewels. We've seen lots of parts of your home, but this is the first I've seen of these. Beautiful, and thanks for sharing them. And for showing the full piece, on flickr...
