Description
An overhead observer, captured back on 8/26/07, of the long parade commemorating the 50th birthday anniversary of our semi fair city.
This big guy had silently sneaked up behind and gone past me before I was aware of its presence above. This was its one and only pass.

Hey, I remember this thing; my first father-in-law was a big regional manager for Goodyear, so this always seemed like "part of the family". It always seemed to be lurking around the skies down there in Southern California like an ominous predator... Excellent capture, Harry!

YIKES! I have had nightmares about such one, since I was a little kid and I never knew why. Must have heard about it or seen it in a movie or something. It always fell down behind a building in the middle of the city in my dream. It still happens I have nightmares about it, but not very often anymore. The sneaky way the are flying scares me :D

I'm picking up where I left off, in your more recent offerings---ie, rather than going back a month and moving backwards...this time I'll move forward! A big clear capture of one of the strangest looking flying objects we know (at least to my eyes). Blimps always look like they should never be able to fly, or else like they're gigantic bloated balloons. Because you cropped with equal amounts of space on all sides, you've allowed the beast to show off all its 'blimpiness', and also made it seem weightless. Your near-white sky helps that immensely, along with the fact that there's nothing around it but those two lines coming off its front. (I don't know what those are, but I can't help but think they're balloon or kite strings! I know they're not, but they look like it.) The slight grain---I assume from the perils of zoom shooting---gives it the air of a dream. I like it a lot. And, like your car shots, you somehow got an angle that shows off a lot of its odd shape. If blimps had feelings, they'd approve of this shot. "It makes me look less fat," they'd say. Very nice blimp shot, Harry.
