Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Aw eat, poop and sleep ! Looks like the hungry one has a good set of lungs. Poor Mom, can't imagine the chaos when all of them are awake at the same time. Wonderful photo of these fragile, delicate and bare naked babies. Thanks for sharing Andrea.

I'm skipping images only so I can get a good sampling...I've seen everything, so know that skipping is only for the sampling and not because I think the others aren't worth the effort---they are. Your chronicle of these birds has been amazing to those of us who rarely get to see such sights. I saw them as a kid, but it's been years since (and I'm 66, so that was a lonnnnnnnnng time ago). It's so striking how their young bodies are kind of these masses of organic "forms," not yet looking like birds...and how many of the shots show these open mouths, because they want so much to feed. (I've known several women who said their grown husbands weren't much different. Maybe you concur, lol. I want you to know that whenever I've been involved with women, I never, never, sat at a table and opened my mouth. Unless to speak or say a dumb joke.) (Well, lots of dumb jokes.) A wonderful series, and it's special, also, because these little creatures are surrounded by all that stuff that birds use to make nests...and those big bright mouths are like beacons in the midst of it all. Wonderful.
