Description

Caleya was planning their escape route when her pulse started racing. She was reacting to a distance sound that could be felt as much as heard. It was almost imperceptible but she was certain of what it meant, this feeling had never been wrong before. The sound was getting louder and now NarirFah heard it, she looked up and got concerned when she saw the expression on Caleya's face. Whump...Whump...Whump... All across the field the Orcs were showing signs that they had also heard the sound. Some had already dropped there weapons and started fleeing. The Orcs knew what that sound meant, and very soon they would all be fleeing - Dragons eat Orcs. Whump...Whump...Whump... Caleya, of course, knew that sound. "Curse those fireworms!" She thought. "Those cowards would of course follow me here to a place where I will have no protection from their flames" On the western border Dragon Archers stay close to shelters that are covered with the only thing that can withstand a blast of dragon fire, the hides of dead dragons. Whump...Whump...Whump... But NarieFah had never heard this sound before, she said to herself, "maybe it is being caused by the Orcs. I hope they are leaving!" There was something in the sky, but all she could see were shadows and vague outlines in the thick clouds. Confused, she started to ask Caleya if they were some kind of bird. But just then the sun emerged and she let out a short gasp. Then she answered her own question, slowly saying: "Dragons!"
Scene setup and rendered in Octane Render 2.17. Figure setup in DS4.7, Postwork in Photoshop CC. There is a lot of lens distortion in this image because the camera was very close to the characters and set to a very wide angle. I tried to minimize the distortion but the lens is close to fisheye - is the distortion too distracting? Otherwise I hope you like the image and this chapter. Thanks for viewing and for the previous, comments and favs - I very much enjoy reading the comments!!! Friends - I am sure those are friends! I love the colours and light - and the very light fisheye effect is working for me as a focus.
