Description
Captured back on 2/17/12, somewhere within the vast confines of the city.
Okay to ZOOM.
I wonder if I should have done variations on this.
Have a nice weekend.

I do love the tails to these clouds where the winds have grabbed them and dragged them out; fine shot, Harry!

another superb sky...with heat ???

Considering the photo was taken in mid February, I doubt if there was any heat involved with the clouds.

It's been eons since I studied meteorology (though in high school, we called it "weather"), but I think the wisps here are cirrus clouds; and if I'm right---if---they're a lot higher than the more clumped clouds (which could be cumulus? I don't remember). If I'm right, it's part of the wonderful illusion of clouds---ie, how they span huge distances (going up) but appear to occupy the same space. In any case, another fine shot of the wonderful contrast between mass and thin strands, between white and deep saturated blue; and of the play of forms as they morph across the sky. In cloud shots, one gets the feeling these clouds travel in these formations all day long, but of course they don't: They morph, shift, change groupings, etc. (Sneaky little bastards! Can't sit still for 2 seconds!) Which is what makes capturing them a delicate art. Another scintillating capture, well cropped, and with that deep saturated blue that you get in your cloud shots, which makes the sky look like it was painted on. More fine cloud work, Harry.
