I'm not sure our English friends would recognize this game of cricket but I do like creative whimsy and this fits that very well. Poor cricket seems a bit confused.

The title is humorous to me but the interpretation of the image is so much more.

Totally different from what I expected when I saw the title. Expected a cricket match, men in whites on a green pitch. Nice one :o))) xx

oh, what a creative and crystal clear transformation. So clear, so simple. I love how you turned those rocks into dice by painting the dots right on them. (This reminds me of the great Saul Steinberg...I'll give you a link or two, below.) And the cricket is so clear, and I love the long middle leg stretched out, as if he's sneaking up to the dice. And your background is a flat metallic-beige with hints of pink, and that "wear" in the surface as if this were an old worn surface; and even a circle near the center, like something to "frame" the dice and cricket into one place. (The "magic circle" of the ancient world...step into it, and one is bidden to conjure the sacred tales of their people...) All that space around simple dice and insect...it's pure you, it's brilliant, and fun, and so well done. I love that those dice are so chiseled, because they're actual rocks. Makes one wish that real dice were made of suck rocks. Brilliant and "true," it just rings true. Your gallery is always an inspiration, Nikolay. *** You may know Saul Steinberg...and he had so many styles, I can only show you a few. But I want to show you some of his drawing/painting over furniture, walls, etc. He also painted over photos of such things...but I can only find one of those on the web. Here's a sampling. The first one is a photo of a chest of drawers, superimposed on a drawing of his. He painted over the photo. (He did this on photos of his whole home.) The rest are actual paintings on furniture, etc. The second sample---go down one paragraph, and you'll see a bunch of Steinbergs. He really has to be studied across all his styles, he did cartoon "caricatures" of architecture the way a cartoonist would of people, and he did much more. Here are some links for whenever, just in case you don't know his work well... http://www.pedrosilmon.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/OPT_1_Chest-of-Drawers-Cityscape-1950.jpg http://37.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lsydkqeMzb1qdxd26o1_1280.jpg https://qualityart.wordpress.com/2013/ http://shelleysdavies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/saul-steinberg-chair-2.jpg http://40.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lk7wmtloOT1qemukso1_1280.jpg https://soldacartum.files.wordpress.com/2010/11/saul-steinberge.jpg http://www.ihatemyacne.com/gatopoder/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/eamescat.jpg
