Description
Some rather nasty side effects of my Chemo left me in hospital for 4 weeks....it got quite serious at one point, but I'm not quite ready to ' check out ' just yet. I'm home but with some limitations for the time being....so lot's of time on my hands.
Like many of you I've been collecting Pedro Caparros's excellent models....this one, the HA-1112 'Buchon' I particularly like. Probably most famous as a 'stand in' for Bf-109's in the movie 'The Battle of Britain'. I just had to drag it into a hanger at The Plant for some 'mods', a new main wing and one of Stan's paint job 'specials'. Turned out OK I think, maybe I should Merlin'ise my He-111 and re-make the movie.....well maybe a few stills....we'll see :-)
Thanks to Pedro for the great model and Bill (Steelrazer) for the background.

Glad to hear you're doing better. I know a few questions were passed around. You have a lot of people who care about you. Wonderful image you've created. Hang in there my friend!

Hey Neil, good to have you back in the fold. I have missed you and your whacky world of Warbirds and the crazy men that fly them! Very cool image and Pedro's planes are great. Just rest and keep a positive attitude, let us do all the heavy lifting, OK? A lot of us have started using IRAY and I must say, the boys and girls are doing some mighty fine looking stuff. Now you have time to just sit and enjoy all the new work in the galleries while you're sipping on that brandy. :-)

Glad to hear you're still with us. The Plant wouldn't be the same without you. Well, actually it wouldn't BE without you. Tell the doctors to be more careful next time or the Wrath of Rendo will descend on them!

Glad you're feeling better! Take it easy and keep a positive attitude (canopy side up)!

Beautiful job! I love the aircraft of that period, and I love that film (even if the BFs and HEs in it weren't the "real McCoys").

Very nice textures on these and yes, I kind of I.D. one of them for sure and will be seeing it tomorrow.. If all goes well, both Duxfords Buchon's (both B of B film Vet's) will be flying with a real Me109G.. Weather looks to be a scorcher so, that means thunderstorms lol Glad you are home mate, rest easy now.. Strength for Southport Show lol Rob

Glad to see you back, Neil! Man, we've all missed you! I felt there was something not usual going on when we didn't hear/see from you. I sincerely hope all is better with you now. Sad thing with chemo is some people don't react well to it. I see you've acquired some "corks" to your collection. Good work! Er, redo BofB? That would be a real challenge. But a few stills is an easier matter. Keep chin up! This is a great start. Keep up the good work! :-)

Much encouragement my friend Neil. I also recently have much time to model airplanes, I am retired and my health is not good either. I wish a speedy and complete recovery. Thank you very much for the mention.

It's good to see you still in there punching away. Hang in there, Neil! My well wishes are with you. Fine textures and render, not a bad way to spend some of that mandatory "free time".... and thank you for the mention as well.

Nice to see you back. The two fake Messerschmitts look great.

Glad you made it back! There were a couple of these at a small private field- ten mile final straight in at Webb AFB in the late 60s.

Good to see you back, 4 weeks in hospital is no joke. You take care of yourself.

Sorry to hear you had to go for more Chemo, but great that your out and lounging around mate. Whats next on the production line?

Good to hear you are home mate. No internet connection here for 5 weeks so we need to catch up. This is my all time favourite film, 'A Bridge Too Far' being very close behind it :-)

Hey Neil! Sorry I've been out of the loop for quite awhile. Bummer about the side effects of chemo. Obviously, Tara and I wish you all the best for a complete recovery! I always enjoy these HA-1112s. I first ran into about five of them parked on the tarmac at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio way back in 1968. And your latest rendition of 'em is superb.

Sorry to hear about the side effects of the chemo, but I am glad you are still with us. Beautiful scene!
