Description
Greetings Folks,
Well, they got it right this year and not because it was sunburn weather.. Beat-ups and formations were back..
But, more of those to come..
Here for delight and as a tease, is the starting line up before me.. As Neil and Sig knlows this is what you see.. An expance of grass and runway right in front oif you and rows of big engines!
So, what can you see...?
Needless to say, half of the aircraft are not in shot as they are parked elsewhere including the groin strainingly exciting Bf109G! And the place was FULL of German folks who had come to see it, go figure?
Also, allot of Americans who'd followed the Historic Flight Foundation Spitfire from the U.S. to fly in various B of B airshows here.. More of that later. In fact more of most lol
Enjoy folks..
Rob
P.S. Taken in one sweep with my small camera..

This is just way too cool of a shot, Rob!!! Here in the US most of the airshows are done at military bases. Everything is nicely lined up in rows and columns on the tarmac. Having the planes displayed on the grass like this is just a wonderful image. Reminds me a little of those great English movies of the '40s about the RAF and WWII. :-)

Yep! that's the sight....and then the choice, do I turn left and start that end or do I turn right :-) Great line-up, I see a Gladiator off to the left, then a Spitfire and a Spitfire and a Spitfire and a.....what a tempting target all lined up like that, don't they know there's a Bf-109 about ?

wicked pano, Rob! can't wait to see the rest

Impressive pano, Rob! Neil stole my boom-boom! With a Bf-109 about, AND the ubiquitous petrol lorry. Does your camera have pano function, or did you have to do some stitching in your computer? Either way, this is very impressive. With the distance the planes "out in the wings" (no pun intended) get a bit small and distorted. But the eye corrects for that when on the field. A bit more difficult in the computer. I can see we're in for some great events and photos! :-)

Gotta love this shot of what an airshow line-up should look like, but doesn't in the USA as Greywolf points out. Glad Neil pegged the Gladiator be cause I couldn't figure it out. The Spits are soooo cooool, but even better there are Curtiss Hawks on the right including two P-36/Hawk75 types! I'm so jealous.

Great shot Rob. Looks a lot drier than last year. You guys need some rain!

Fabulous capture and creation of one of the best panoramas of all time in this labor of love, Rob. Great POV and contrasts in this one. Love that sky. And, the ghosts of Hermann Goering and Manfred von Richthofen were in attendance.

Wow - what a scene, and what a beautiful day to enjoy and get lots of great shots! You got a great shot, Rob - it's almost as good as being there! Almost.. :-D Can't wait to see what else you have for us!
