I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Such a cutie, and a lovely pic! Poor darling , to be born with what normally affects only us oldies.

oh man, what a glorious pic...all the colors and lines just swirl up to meet her smile! And I love the hat over her eyes, and all that super bright green in the background. Beautiful shot, Carin, filled with joy and intimacy; and you couldn't have cropped it better, too...wonderful!

What an adorable image, Carin! So full of pure joy, as if she doesn't even realize her health issues. Wishing your family the best of luck with the upcoming operation!

So sweet! Good luck with her surgery...

What anahata.c and MrsRatbag said. Plus, she does look feisty in her cuteness.

Bienvenue à la rigolade...

And, of course, the camera loves her. I'm betting the feistiness you've noticed will stand her in good stead and she will come through these medical issues with flying colors. And then she will be even more impossibly cute.

What an intensely joyful photograph, and such a funny little face, has this honey, still unaware of her upcoming surgery. Amèlie , through her sweet smile, invites everyone to cuddle her, huh? I so hope the doctors can cure her eye problems completely. God bless her, dear Carin.

Superb capture Carin. I trust her operation will be a huge success. God bless.

What a sweet child! I can't believe how quickly time passes. She's getting so big! I'll hold a good thought for a positive outcome for her next surgery.
