In many ways Cuba is a country suspended in time. Memories of my childhood were everywhere.

i've heard just that, that "Cuba is a country suspended in time". Isn't it amazing that you can feel your childhood in a foreign land? A beautiful and quiet shot---for all its visual flare---because of the 'wall' on the left, and the deep shadows. And the overcast sky, which kind of "holds everything in place". And you have all the right-side activity crammed together in a near flat view, which feels very busy and intense. Lots of wiry forms there...I like the dip of the street in the distance, like there's another town down there; and that one woman in her bright pastel hues is a wonderful human addition. And such colors on those old American cars! Even the blue arrow pulls the picture together. Beautiful shot, Mark. Makes me wish I were there...

Amazing, isn't it, how many of those cars are still in excellent condition, still being driven? We throw so much away here. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?
