One of the maples in our backyard. Love the colors, but I see some raking in our future...
Please zoom.

Really lovely! So glad you are a raker not a blower, much better for the waistline as well as the environment!

and, to andrea, raking's much better on the ears too...when I saw this, I thought, you must've gotten into someone's yard in Prague...but then I read that it was your yard...whoosh! You're back home, lol, at least for the time being...A yellow and red vision of autumn, with rich saturation and a crop that brings out the protective eaves of a tree. I mean, the branches seem to shoot upwards, but they protect everything below them. And the two tones of your fence---darker on the bottom, lighter on top---add another layer to this very aesthetically layered shot. Beautiful colors, and the framing is---looking for words here---painterly. It's an excerpt of nature that one would paint. I really like the crop, it has this layered and generous feeling to it. The tree just sweeps over everything behind it, and canopies the shot. A loving image.

I just saw an article that claims it's better to let the leaves compost in place; not sure how that would look in a month or two, probably pretty shabby, but I like the way they look freshly fallen and covering the ground. Beautiful autumn mood from your back garden!
