Description
just messing around
(the sun is real, I just postworked everything for a kind of 'brittle' effect)
Zoom is more detailed
(btw, I got no sleep last night, so if my comments and words are a little 'loopy' today, bear with me!)

You have a great gift for postwork which feels perfectly natural when you've done! Amazing.

The near monochromatic color of the buildings and trees communicates the feeling of winter very well. And the sun, blue sky and light on the snow brings hope that someday things will be warm again. Great shot, Mark.

Fabulous capture and postwork Mark! very cool scene

I love everything about this; the "brittle" feel is exactly what I feel about cold snowy winter days when the sun comes out...I don't even have words for how gorgeous this is. Is "favourite" good enough?

A striking scene, absolutely alien to we residents who live down here in always warm and snowless Los Angeles County, Mark. Love the into-the-sun capture of the stark silhouetting black and white contrasting effects of Chicago in the winter. And UteBigSmile continues to eat up valuable real estate in the comment section.

A beautiful scene and whatever postwork you used created an impressive image. It makes me shiver to see the snow. I don't do cold very well and hate the winter months. Hope you are able to rest and feel better.

Is that the Bishop's house back there? I love the snow on the roof.
I slept great, until Bill's weather app woke me up at about 3:00 with a tornado warning noise for a neighborhood at least an hour south of here. :P I was up for an hour or more. No bad weather here, though. Just a bit of wind and rain.
Wolfenshire
Very cool capture. The long shadows make it look lonely.

this is such a dramatic-looking scene. it belongs in a movie. the dark is so deep and the light is so bright that it makes such an interesting scene... lots of stories to be heard and told are waiting there in front of us... nice work, Mark!
