Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

holy moley! That'a rush hour I'd rush to get away from, pronto, lol! I love this treatment! And you call the flickr version "less extreme"? I'm not sure I wanna see your part of the world! I love both. The flickr looks like a weird alien 'dock' with lights glowing at midnight. THIS looks like a bus that got hit by a major heat wave---I'm talkin' two-three hundred Centigrade here---and then froze. It gooped and sagged, and wound up like this. (With the "Dorchester House" intact, lol: Lucky sign!) It also looks like a big piece of candy with chunks in it---for Frankenstein's kids. Or a metal sculpture with lights in it. Is this the piece you said, in my gallery, you did in a "similar" fashion to mine? 'Cause madam, my shot doesn't come close to this! I love this! The bottom third is the blob---from the original film---with lots of spooky eyes; and the trees on the left are rusted metal. Terrific and creative postwork. I love this!

Great digifiddles, like both pics.

both images are fantastic in their presentation., I'd hate being stuck in 'Rush hour' traffic, no matter the vehicle. Excellent work

I'm thinking celluloid film stopped in front of a heat source...what a wonderful abstraction!!!

I couldn't say which was more or less extreme. They're both delicious! All those lights coming at you from basically nowhere. Wonderful!

I'll go with the celluloid comparison. This is a very creative fiddle. A lo to see here.

Outstanding capture and post work Andrea. God bless.

Awesome pics. Andrea !
The post-work really adds to the frustration of a traffic jam.
Our jams are only four or five cars long at best.
The line up at the railway tracks are much longer when the train is passing through.
Course we live in a small town with a population of 3,907 ------ just the way we like it.
We moved from the city to a more relaxed rural area 22 years ago ! !

Un embouteillage et un encombrement de lumière et de couleur rouge, excellent rendu !
