Castles in the Sky
As I bask in gaudy sunshine
building my castle in the sky
I am vaulted upwards in passion
to the detail of minute adorations,
tapestries of tiny teal tiles
of the all-seeing-eye in stained glass
in a rainbow of colours
playing between light and dark.
I arch upwards
on the strength of hyperboloids
vaulted in a parabola of
a columned cedar forest
profound in spiritual peace
to the glory of design.
On solid foundations
harmoniously made in chiseled granite
well-proportioned in clay baked in integrity
I transcend
on a stressed ribbon bridge
of religious compassion.
Façaded in functional form
harmonious in content
logical in function
I build this my masterpiece of
Gaudi architecture
and I find solace
my castle in the sky.
