Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I just love what you did to this photo. I guess it is a Photoshop phenomenon :-)

(yeah, real linens are rarer and rarer; my cousin's 12 year old asked "why do they call these linens, when they're cotton?") A very pleasing photo, and you did your heavy duty postwork on it, not taking away any of the photo details, but adding shapes and colonies and borders of hues, etc, to make it a very geological/biological piece. I really like the concentration of glasses and napkins on one side, and all that open view on the other. And how you broke the background into these spreading hue-groups that move across the page like watercolor washes, only these have hard and jagged edges. I love how you do this. I saw the flickr too---a real golf course! (Do you golf? I don't think you ever said you did. I can't picture you on the golf course! I golfed as a teen, and was pretty good; but I never returned. The whole saddle shoe, LaCoste polo thing was too much for me, lol, and all those cleats, and the long waits while people 'tee up', etc. I bought the most expensive balls---I mean I spent a fortune---and sliced them to bits. When I threw a club in the water, that's when I knew it was time to get outa there for good...)

And don't forget the beautiful rose, Andrea! This really has a fantastic view, sitting there while enjoying a lot of vegetables (my favourite food ;-)

That really sounds good. Superb food for a reasonable price, that's my taste also. Fantastic shot and postwork.

A beautiful table setting, indeed... and a lovely view in your other image. No wonder it's one of your favorite lunch spots!

I do love the post work. You replace the details with color variations turning the image into an abstract. A wonderful view. Sounds like a lovely place.

This is so pleasing to view. Your post work is delightful, and I like the intimacy of the shot. I feel as if I were getting ready to sit down and enjoy a luncheon with you. We'll have a lovely meal and a nice visit, and finish off with a coffee. SO satisfying!
