Fantastic work !

whoa, Andrea, another drawing/painting, and a portrait---it's always great when you post your 2D. What a terrific gift for Ana, considering how much she loves to do portraiture. I looked up the pencils, and saw that they're watercolor pencils. An amazing medium, because you get the wash and flow of watercolors, but the precision of a pencil. (I'm out to sea with pure watercolors, I just never mastered the medium.) And yes, these are vivid pencils. I love the two tones of the background, and your features are, as they always are, sculpted and so expressive. I love the eyes, and the purple shading on top, and the thick eyelids and lashes, done in your thick strokes. And the vertical strokes throughout, as if this face is 'raining down' the paper. It goes inside the person---and that's really fitting for Ana, because her portraiture goes deep inside each person she draws. A haunting, stunning portrait. I even like the rough edges where the colors stop! Happy Birthday, Ana! May this help make your coming year a burst of light for you: You deserve it all! Andrea, you made a wonderful dedi. I really love this.

What a delightful portrait! I like the excitement of the watercolor pencils, and imagine them dancing around at night when you're not looking. :P (I think it's quite interesting that you, Helle and Mark all did something for Ana in the same colors, btw. It makes a nice display in the gallery.)

It is MASTERFUL and i don't deserve so much...Thank you very much for this portrait ! I ADORE THIS!!! I do love your pencil work(you know) and the washes are fabulous as well as the colors and the shading that are incredible! You have a GREAT GIFT WITH YOU: You makes your work felt easy, when i know it's not at all! and what Mark said so well and that it was exactly the words i needed to express :...''raining out the paper'' (thanks, Mark:)!) I really adore those astonished eyes ! The closed mouth that speaks so much... and the cut that you did on top in the head, a lot! Lol!! ANDREA!!! It's a truly marvelous bit of fancy; the pencils look like fun and while you might find them a little overwhelming at first I think you'll grow into them in quick time! Fantastic work!
