Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Oh, so wonderful colors on these glass things. No wonder you cannot bear to get rid of them. :)

I like this although it does remind me of internal organs.

How cool this is! It seems to me to be a glass representation of the human body with see-through skin!

I get the feeling of an Elephant with It's trunk in the air ,Nice.

yeah, there is as sense of human organs...but it's clearly glass...I can't put my fingers on your technique, but it feels like the shot was ever so slightly jiggled, making a kind of 'glow' around the edges; and your light is quite intense, making the glass a mix of glass and light. The result is a very glowing image, where the deep hues really stand out, while there is so much light washing through the whole image. I don't know what these are---ornaments, or vases (with very thin necks), or just sculptures...whatever they are, you made an abstract of whooshing shapes and hues, and it's flooded with light as if it were one huge glass sculpture. Beautiful.

How very interesting! and empathize and agree about not gathering more collectibles at a certain age. Well found and shot.

Excellent shot, I saw some nice examples at the Broomhill Gallery and Sculpture park in the summer, recently had a pre xmas lunch there, great food too.

Indeed, I would be intended too, Andrea. And you shows this work of art so beautifully, I first thought it could be a very lively fractal!

I'm sure you know this jumped off the page at me!! :P What a beautiful thing! I so easily resist buying things these days that it's hard for me to remember that sometimes I WANT to add something to my collection! LOL! Taking a picture is the perfect way to own something you don't actually want cluttering up your space.

What a attractive piece but I resist from buying any "dust collectors" any longer.
Besides our new kitten===Mia is busy knocking over anything in her way when she is on a mission..
