Description
I was able to focus on the wood chip, but not the fungus. I think it is too dense except for the edges to focus

I love this trio of images. This one really drives home your point---the fungus has a built-in invisible shield, like it won't let you photograph it, for the life of it. As a consequence, you got this eerie almost sci-fi shot of a chunk of wood surrounded by a white mass that doesn't want to be seen---maybe it's taking over that poor slab. What a fascinating shot. It's like that slab fell on a bottle of cream, and the cream splattered out everywhere; or it fell in an explosion in a 'feather factory'...fascinating shot.

Great capture Richard!! I see Your using F4 as your focal point. You might try a deeper depth of field.

Still, this is a fascinating photo even with the fungus out of focus. "Fungus out of focus..." Try saying that five times really fast LOL!
Cool series of photos, Richard!
