Description
This is for Jacomina (dochtersions).
In my dedi last year, I said Jacomina's work was like a treasure handed down through generations, which becomes precious. If you look at all the dedi's to Jacomina, today---in fact, if you look at the dedi's to Jacomina any day---you'll get the same feeling: She's precious to everyone who knows her, she makes everyone feel great joy, and they feel a special magic each time they walk into her world. Her world's a place of deep humanity and beauty; and everyone who knows her loves her...
This image isn't a fractal: It's a digital painting trying to 'act' like a fractal. So instead, I tried to emulate Jacomina's fractals. Emphasize: tried. You "kind of" emulate Jacomina. That's the best you can do.
Her fractals are whole Universes: They have endless organic forms, and the forms swirl and sing, and interact and dance, and make a cantata. A Bach cantata. For those of you who don't know Bach, he does, in music, what Jacomina does in visuals: Everything dances, everything connects...she'll know what that means: She's a musician, and she adores Bach. And what I say is true.
And her photography is gorgeous: It's not a "side show" to her fractals: She photographs wondrous shots of nature, people, architecture, etc, that burst in your eyes. She's a wonderful photographer with a great eye; and some of her photographs are like miracles...
Those of you who know Jacomina know she suffers from consuming physical ailments. She's been very open about them. So when she posts and comments, we know it can be very hard for her. Anyone who's lived with chronic pain knows that the simplest acts become huge---which makes us all the more grateful for what she gives, and how much love she puts into it...
So, Jacomina, I send all my gratitude to you for all you give here, for jewel after jewel from your heart and soul---including, btw, your wonderful poetry (in a 2d language!)---and for the love that you shine on us constantly. Your art's is not just a jewel, you're a jewel. Gefeliciteerd, prachtige ziel (which means, Happy Birthday, beautiful soul), and may healing shine on you always
with love and great blessings, Mark
(Another big pic---much fuller, zoomed!)
(Also. I was swamped, Sunday: I'll catch up on your uploads tonight, I promise!)

Ethereal. Definitely a female figure in there but the face is hidden. A beautiful flowing image and a great gift for Jacomina.

OMG, you know so many artists and their talents, problems and life styles. How do you do it? But I digress. A fabulous tiled endeavor of lavendered color, contrast, shapes, depth, and texture to add to your copious family of birthday dedications, Mark.

you have a mermaid in this scene and she is lovely! a wonderful gift for Mies. She is a consummate artist and it is right that we celebrate her passion!

I know what you mean by the scale and reach of her work; it has layers within layers and goes way beyond normal human dimensions. You've come close here, without actually writing a fractal formula; this also is quite rich and layered with meaning and dimensions in your own inimitable style. Well done, Mark!

Mark, you have said it all with such eloquence, I am speechless - never in a million years would have found these words to express, what only you are able of - (I only wish!) indeed "you da spin-doctor" ... and I do like your texture-like celebration for her Birthday.
Your dedication for her Birthday Anniversary is like a jewel, I concur with you on all points - and she is a rare and beautiful jewel herself, she is an artist in her own ways and nobody can be compared to her. Because she has her own unique style and trait, which is also an insight into her art and her life. She is blessed indeed.
Cheers BB

Beautiful birthday dedication. It's very interesting what you did with this. I've been experimenting with integrating fractals into digital paintings, while you integrated a painting into a fractal. Very cool.

This is really beautiful, Mark! Wonderful colors and textures - you can almost feel it.
I must confess, I'm not familiar with this artist's work - I can see I'm going to have to remedy that...

Such a beautiful birthday dedication for Jacomina. It reminds me of an organic mermaid exploring her own universe. So many intricate patterns. And a very lovely fractal-like artwork, in tribute to Jacomina's amazing fractals. I had not seen her work before and it was such a pleasure viewing her gallery. Her fractals are from another universe, so multi-layered and meaningful. Her deep soul shines in every work. You have once again illuminated another artist with the gift of your vision and words, Mark, and in doing your dedications, we all receive the gift of discovering someone new.

What a beautiful birthday card for one of everyone's favorite people. I can see a dancer in the light, spreading joy and love and light all around her, and it's a perfect piece for Jacomina's birthday.

Oh, my dear, dear, I am speechless, can not contain all those (too) praise; dizzy in my head, and can not contain, this is about me. It will take some time before I will have processed all of the words, your typical Mark-words, which can go as deep, and (I suspect) come from very deeply, from your miraculous source, and your great talent to touch people, so people are as beings full of wonder at the things that you distribute. And then the spectacular show, which here "upon the stage", as well as overwhelming as your dancing words. I see a enlightened purple dancer, which is on the way in an enchanting whole of foliage, so vivid hues, so warm; textures, which tickle everyone's fancy; and yet, it is also a dream landscape. So, these enlightened dancer could be a sleepwalker, in one very special dream, a purple dream. Purple, which is the color of holiness. Dear Mark, it will take some time before I can contain all what you wrote, and I will often look at your wonderful work, you've created on your special way. Mark, my gratitude is like the set of all different colors and textures, and like your intentions, what you share here. (bow)
