Description

Happy birthday, Yves. I had to post a piece of my artwork for you and this is the most modern type piece I have ever made. Nothing I have ever made compares to the original artistry you create, and Helle and Mies also, but this is my two mites (pennies). I hope you know how much I value your fantastic art and how glad I am to have discovered you here. I hope you have a fantastic birthday. This was done a couple of years ago and is oil on canvas.

I like this a lot, Katherine, though I'm not sure it's in the right gallery. On the other hand, I routinely check only the Photography galley here, so I would have missed it if you had posted it elsewhere...

I looked in the list, but did not see any gallery like oil painting or fine art and since it is a photo of my painting I thought it would be ok to put it here. But, if I made a mistake I apologize.

It's easy to imagine the fire being Gala's hair, and voices coming from that enferno

OHH!! Traditional art here. That is wonderful. You did a great job with the poor giraffe. Do you have more of your paintings to show us??

Oh Helle, I only have a very few. I am a very slow artist and my body of work is very limited, but I will look for something for you.

I'm glad you found the "2D" gallery (with Claude's help, perhaps): If you're not used to "2D" for painting/drawing, etc, it's hard to figure it out. I had a culture shock when I learned that they used the term "2D" to distinguish it from "3D". Who ever called painting "2D"? Anyway, I can definitely see Dali here, even in the odd objects in the left distance (and their shadows too). And you have a bit of an apocalypse with the giraffes in the background, also on fire. A wonderfully fanciful vision, with Dali's browns and shadows, and landscape expanses. And a wonderful way to envision a giraffe. Terrific dedi for Yves (and I agree with you about him, as I do with what you said about helle and others). And I see he loved it too.
