Description

Just a quick post to let you all know I'm still alive! LOL What the he## has happened to free time lately?? Sheesh! Still trying not to fall behind on comments, but am presently about 3 days behind. I'll get around to your galleries soon, hopefully.. This was an interesting formation in the S. Dakota Badlands from last fall. I thought the textures and erosion patterns were pretty neat. Well....... Have you heard the news?? Looks like us Poser users are losing yet another resource for content.... RDNA has just merged with DAZ. Yes, it's true. I just checked it out myself. Not a lot of folks are happy about it, but we'll just have to see where it goes... Now, before anyone gets all upset, I have nothing against DAZ - in fact I'll be giving the new DAZ a go if I ever get the time to rebuild this computer. I just hope SM continues to improve Poser, and the major marketplaces don't forget us Poserites! :-D Now, back to getting caught up on comments and the TNA story! Have a good one, everyone!

This is a wicked scene Rod! I can imagine a T.N.A. Outpost hidden out there!

I'm not too sure about the merging either as I was able to get good prices at RNDA. I don't know what their price points will be now.

this reminds me of Death Valley. superb photography Rod. I did notice that they were pushing studio only products. I wonder why? well, they have been a favorite of mine as renderosity, so now I will reduce or only purchase here

Well I know one thing.. you can kiss any more things for V4 goodbye!... knowing DAZ, they'll be selling only G3 stuff from now on!

Now where did I see this before?... interesting shot!

Very interesting formation looks great ..When I got the email about RDNA... my mouth dropped i couldn't believe what I was reading and reread hoping i had read wrong.. In any business you need competition ...This has made for a very sad day 😢

Looks like Drumheller Alberta, we have the same kinda landscape there.

Yeah, that merger did not go over well at all. I'm not thrilled about it and I use daz almost exclusively. I feel bad for poser users, this is not a good thing. We need diversity and some healthy market competition.

Glad that heart is still pumping, Rod. Hope all is well, and a cool shot. I'm thinking like Mike on the T.N.A.Outpost. also did not hear that news.

Neat photo! Well, there goes another reasonably priced site. The only time I can afford DAZ is when they have one of their MEGA sales. Oh well, guess I'll just have to wait and see how it goes. Hope you get some down time soon - the good kind that is.

That's a pic Rod. Yes. I saw mention of the merger last night over at FA. It doesn't bother me one way or the other. Never been a huge fan of RDNA anyway. Guess I picked the right time to learn DS. Trust me, it's not so bad once you start to get the nack of it.

Well spotted and captured, those textures are fabulous. Yes I did see that they had merged, it seems you have to be big to survive these days worse luck. 😄

Fantatic landscape! Really unfortunate there will be less competition, big fish, small fish etc

You'd probably not want to find out what could be lurking within those crevices. However if T.N.A took over then they could do the dirty work. ;)

Even though I use solely DAZ these days, I support Poser and hope there will be still be places to get content for it. There should be room for both!

Wow, you could have told me this was a picture from the moon and it would be believable. I too am behind in comments and I am not even doing any renders...smile.

I am sure Rendo is salivating at the prospect of some sort of take over. I am curious about what Smith Micro's response will be. Their upper management can not be happy. If they do not get off their duffs Poser stands to become irrelevant in the not too distant future. Of course it is their own darn fault, their characters suck. They had one good one to start when they took over, Miki, but then seemed to lose interest, and never developed any decent characters. When they first took over Poser I went to their site a lot and bought a lot of content, but it progressively became more sucky with only cheesey products that I stopped going....Oh well time will tell.

Yeah, I think that's all any of us can do, Rob - go with the flow. The next few months are going to be interesting, that's for sure! I know you, Jenny, and Ken will do fine no matter what. :-D

Rod, you did a great job on this very detailed capture. I was excited to hear about the merger with Daz and hope it works out great for everyone.

Cool pic Rod, love the formations.

Maybe the RDNA part will handle Poser and DAZ concentrate on, well, DAZ. I think Poser is still strong, so there should be a market for it.
