Description

Haven't been around much. I've had physical therapy and then a ton of work, and I've been really tired. But I'm starting to comment now. It'll take more time than usual, but I'll get to you all. Just slowly... But I saw that today was Katherine's birthday (SunriseGirl). I've only known Katherine's gallery recently, but she does beautiful work, with genuine generosity-of-spirit. I get a feeling that she loves sharing beauty with us, and her work has such love in it. (And she shows her generosity in comments too, which are always connected and kind.) I just think she's a glowing, delightful artist, so I wanted to join in on her birthday wishes. Happy Birthday, Katherine! This pic is sunrise in my part of the world, in honor of your sitename. I've posted a few similar shots, but I chose this for its colors, as they seemed fitting for you. Many more in great health and inspiration! Gelukkige verjaardag! (Or, Gefeliciteerd met je verjaardag!) (I hope one of them is correct!) All my best, Mark (I'll get to your galleries over time...) (Fuller Zoomed) ----------------------------------

Thank you, Mark. This is a gorgeous sunrise photo. I love everything about it from colors to the light shining through the waves and sparkling off the water to the sea spray in the air. What a kind and thoughtful birthday post.
I am also glad to hear you are back even if a bit slow. I am always slow with no real good excuse either. Maybe I can use old age as an excuse ::))
Also you got the Dutch birthday greetings correct with the second wish Gefeliciteerd met jouw verjaardag. Here everyone says congratulations. In fact, if you have a birthday party everyone who comes not only says Gefeliciteerd to the birthday person, but also to everyone else that they greet at the party. I had to learn how to do that as well as always saying my name when I meet someone the first time and shake their hand. As you shake hands you each state your name. It is more common than what in the States is considered an introduction, but it is certainly faster. Now if I could only catch the name when they say it..usually it is too fast for my old ears.

Ah, the prodigal son returns if only for a moment. This is a great catch, especially the spray on the right, and a wonderful gift for Katherine on her birthday. I hope your physical therapy went well and that you are finding the time to get some rest. Don't pay attention to those voices who are saying "You can sleep when you're dead".

A lovely birthday image for SunriseGirl. I love the shimmery look and mood of this beautiful photo, and how the ocean spray looks like golden glitter. And everything cast in such a rich rosy glow. It's quite magical.

I thought the sun was a sphere, but apparently it's a six sided blunt star. Sunburst, waves, glistening reflections & a splash that has broken up into thousands of individual water droplets - you've packed a lot into one shot! Hope your therapy is progressing well, Mark, & that you regain your energy...

Excellent into-the-sun-which-looks-like-a-supernova capture of Lake Michigan snapped under warmer conditions with a terrific ocean ambiance, Mark, plus, I echo photosynthesis in his comment. And, how come SunriseGirl hasn't shown up in re my gallery postings?

This strikes a deep cord with me. Many hours in childhood playing along the beach in front of our house.

This colour combination is one that reaches out and grabs me every time, those lush plums and golds; a riot of richness spread over the sea and sky, beautifully captured. I hope you're doing well, and take the time you need to heal; we miss you but we'll be waiting patiently. Happy birthday Katherine!

SIMPLY DIVINE ! what a present, Mark... such a breath-taking moment you have captured there for your friend K. I am unfamiliar with her gallery, but I shall rectify that, as soon as my workload eases off a bit more... this could be good therapy for anyone, meditating to this image.
