Description

A rock in Ashland Creek, which runs through Lithia Park. I have a hard time figuring out what genre to classify images like this in - I wish there was one called "Nature"... Please zoom.

Very nice capture. One suggestion: Maybe you could try to use a longer exposure time to get the water soft.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I didn't do a long exposure for several reasons:

Not a fan of the soft water look. I do see some creative use of it occasionally, but I think it's become a photographic cliche.
I rarely have my tripod with me.
In this particular case, I had to stand on a steep dirt slope to get this shot & it would have been hard to steady a tripod anyway.

Interesting to read the comments on soft water. You seem to have chosen a speed that still captures the motion of the water but without losing the detail of those natural textures. Fine shot!
