(I believe this shot means I've done all of April---a feat I haven't done here for a while. I'm glad I completed a full month in you gallery...) The top shot is almost an abstract, even though it has such clear natural elements in it. The shapes are so geometric, and in so many different angles. The lower half angles up to the stairs, while the building angles away to the right. Fascinating interplay, with blues on top and bottom. Then the second shot angles the other way, and we see the sidewalk----where, suddenly, this becomes a very laid back, quiet neighborhood; a scene from suburbia. More complementary angles. And that one guy in the background makes this seem like a lazy afternoon (even though it's 8:16 in the morning). A fine pair of shots with very complex linear language, and geometric shapes, interplay, etc, and a very laid back second shot. LA really has topiary. I don't see a lot of it here. Maybe ice and snow inhibits people I don't know...(And it's such a laid back area for City Hall. Ours is tucked into the very center of the downtown towers...)
