Description

Captured 3/14/16 @ 2:38 pm, I don't remember where. Looks ominous, but no rain from it all. Kind of reminds me of Independence Day.

It does look rather like you could expect a large spaceship to push through and make its presence known, doesn't it? It looks more humid than I'm sure it was, too. We've got clouds moving back in tonight with rain tomorrow again after a run of clear, warm and sunny days in the high 60s-low 70s. Quite pleasant, I must say, aside from the overwhelming brightness that none of us folks up here can tolerate too well after a long dark winter ;p Excellent capture of these teasing, lazy and nonproductive clouds, Harry.

I love the bulge here---the way the whole shot bulges down a bit in the center. And the main big cloud just fattens up and turns dark in the center. Amazing too that these things never produce rain for your area. It looks hugely threatening---if that were in Chicago, you'd get a downpour with lightning and thunder blasts. (Why don't they let go for SCal? I never understood that. We in the Midwest get the impression you just don't get clouds...but you get spectacular clouds! They just don't do anything...) A powerful looming shot, with that curved ground, as if the cloud were so powerful it warped the earth. A really powerful capture.
