Description
So, as I was attempting to get home last night, I noticed that the cars on the freeway seemed to be weaving about. As I got closer, I saw that a small bird was running frantically about in and out of the traffic. I pulled into the center grass area and got out . I was amazed that the little guy was not smashed. Two other people stopped also. We managed to herd the little guy into the grass with out anyone becoming roadkill. So, now I have a goose of some kind. As there were no houses in sight, goose came home with me. I have decided to call him Freeway. After some research, I believe it is a domestic goose called a Toulouse. How he got on the freeway is beyond me. I have a wonderful home for the little guy. I will get to watch him grow and see if I guessed correctly. For those that have never raised water fowl, they are the messiest critters on earth when in a cage.

The local ducks cause chaos on the roads about this time of year as the parents proudly march their chicks to the nearest water, they don't seem to know the highway code.

Oh, wow! What a surprise! And the drivers willing to risk an accident in order to not hit it! Restores some faith in human goodness. Cute fellow. But as you say, water fowl are best kept out doors and in association with a body of water. They poop in the water, so they have no understanding that one doesn't poop on the living room rug or the kitchen table! And, the little fellow will need a mama to teach it how to fend for itself in nature. That can be tough even if he has the world's best human mom! Please keep us up to date on his progress (if it is a he. Hard to tell until more mature feathers are sprouting). There are geese in Malmö City Park - they are both spoiled, and aggressive. I've seen some chasing humans who don't have food or had too little with them! Always an amusing scene! Keep up the good work! :-)
My rating - 7 !
