Duxford - American Airshow 2016 and a surprise for me..
I've long wanted to see these guys, Europe's biggest Vietnam War Group and with a huge reputation for massive fire-power demos (not here sadly lol)
They own a working 155mm Gun (yes it fires only blanks though but you can imagine the impact that makes at a show.. )
This truck is based on an actual Vietnam based one, their website has actual photos of it in theatre.. With unit history..
I recommend you go to site and read up..
The details on it are incredible and they LIKE you get close and personal..
For those who like to just know : Its a REO M35 A2 'Guntruck', 8th Group, 124th Transport, Sth Vietnam..
On site at this show as well (not part of this group), were an Osprey ( no barriers) and a Bronco, Skyvan, Huey, and a couple of other firsts for me.. Good show.. Bad set up! (new rules!).

All mounted on a GMC 2 1/2 ton chassis, I assume. Good thing they did NOT have a show of fire power. You can imagine what all the PC characters would come up with to ban them! I'm looking forward to more fun photos from this event! Good, low camera angle. Gives impression of massive size! But the paint? Looks more UK than US Army. Keep up the good work! :-)

wicked history and details

I had Revell models of this in the early 50's. Most of the ones the National Guard had did not have dual wheels and were rigged for offroad payloads. A convoy was miles long on the main roads going to Camp Grayling or elsewhere.

That is one well armed truck with two Ma deuces and a Pig to occupy Charlie. I have never seen this type of vehicle before, but I'm not surprised that a transport outfit would have one. Great shot!

AM commutes on the parkway would be a breeze with this little item.
