Hi, I’m Sir Tominptarthisbur, Baj-tisk’s ambassador to Menthanla and advisor to King Emeton. I’m also a part-time scribe. I used to be a scribe and an author before being named as ambassador. My duties as ambassador and advisor don’t leave me much time for writing, but I manage to squeeze in a little. Many people look at my name, hesitate then just point and say ‘you.' I have one of the longer names in Baj-tisk. I usually go by Pt’this. Even this intimidates people. I think it’s the ‘P’ and ‘T’ together. If you say ‘pit’ really fast, you end up leaving the ‘I’ off it, and it sounds right. Then you just say the word ‘this.' See? It’s not that hard. The other thing most people do is assume I’m an elf. I’m not. I’m a dragon. See the little dragon in the corner of my picture? That’s me in true form. You can tell true elves by their eye color. Elves have multi-colored eyes. Mine are just green. That’s something else you can tell about dragons. In true form, our eyes are the same color as our scales and skin. You probably will never see a dragon’s skin. The only time it’s exposed is when we shed, and we do that in private. True form is what we call our dragon form, what we look like when we’re born. As you can see, it’s quite a bit different from what you humans look like. We’re also a lot bigger. That sometimes causes problems so we learned to change our shape and take an alternate form. Originally we didn’t do it but because it was difficult and dangerous. Then someone developed a diamond vial. It’s actually made from diamonds and is spelled to help us change shape. We can also store stuff in the vial. If we are wearing or holding something when we change shape, we can choose to leave it in the vial until we change shape again.
