Anyone, and you know who you are out there, who has sat on their Fathers shoulders like this and seen this will know that feeling... (but without those stupid ear protectors our PC world insists on)..
I certainly have, I can even remember the airshows (Farnborough and Biggin Hill!).
Taken at Legends this year, landing had changed once more and they were very close on finals..
No introduction needed, you know what this is.. And yes, it sounded great! lol

"Hmmm... a Soviet Yack-i-ty yack. No, er,,,, a target plane with a bull's eye on its side. No, errr,,,, Can't be a Hurry-cane (nobody's scurrying!). A Spitfire? Where's the dragon's spittoon? DRAT! I give up!" - T.Rex. Looks like ol' T.Rex is better at swallowing people than regurgitating types of aircraft! Thanks for allowing me some fun! Darned good photo. 1/10 of a second later and plane would have been beyond the little fellows head.
Another my rating - a 6 here, too!

It's what an airshow is all about. I remember watching Blue Angels in Grumman F-11 fighters roaring over Lake Michigan.

AS loud as kids are yelling in your ear or just around the house when you take them to the race track or airshow they begin to pull back. With the ear protectors they are just fine no mater what the loudness really is. It's a matter of provision.
