Hi, Realised I have never posted much from the Heritage Motor Museum, a stunning place.. This unique Land Rover was built especially for the Film, Lara Croft, Tomb Raider, with Angelina Jolie.. It was filmed at Pinewood studies in the UK.. The choice of vehicle was easy for Director Simon West, 'The Defender was the perfect choice as Lara's vehicle.. The theme of the film is based on action and adventure so Lara's vehicle had to be rugged enough to stand up to the challenging stunts'.. This used to be a standard 'Red' Defender 110 High Capacity Pick Up, it took a ten strong team from Land Rover at Solihull to convert this into the radical V8 powered beast ready for anything.. Finished in metallic Bonatti paint work, has special chequer body work, roll cage, roof rack and an amazing range of lights.. Plus sat Nav etc Note the 'Raider' plates on the body.. AND, no barriers! Ms Jolie sat on that seat...... Rob

I used to drive a Defender at work, great fun, unbreakable and would go anywhere and pull anything. I'd own one now if they weren't so damn expensive.

Well, it wasn't Q from the Bond movies that rebuilt it. I wonder what fantastic gadgets he would have put into it? Who owns this fantastic vehicle today? The museum, I assume. Very nice photo of it. Now, I wonder what Indiana Jones could have gotten away with if he had access to a vehicle like this! Fun! Keep up the good work! :-)
