Description
The forgotten one..
Everyone has heard and maybe seen a Tiger Moth, the RAF's main wartime trainer but, did you know that this almost became the one that made the grade..
With side-by-side seating, way ahead of its time it was made from metal and there lay its downfall.. Moths were fabric..
It was generally held that B-2's were more able and stronger than Moths and 42 were used during the war..Only 2 made it through..One of those crashed in 1951..
You are looking at the last flying example of its kind, indeed the LAST of its kind..
(One fuselage does exist, though its in bad shape).
I have waited a good few years to see this fly.. It was in the air at Shuttleworths Military Pageant, with 7 types of trainer..

Keeping the line alive.

Never heard of it, but that's understandable - only 2 surviving. Side by side seating? That's unusual, but very innovative. Hat's off to the designer who came up with that idea. Would be interesting to see the cockpit. Thanks for posting this and the education! Keep up the good work! :-)
