Description
This is an old watercolor painting of mine back when I was being more creative. I have always admired how Helle just creates things all the time. She fits it in in spite of her busy life. I do not live and breath creativity. I must work at it. I do enjoy it when I take the time, but I have not taken that time lately. I have not even visited RR much and seldom even leave a comment when I do...just a 'like' most of the time. I can only seem to really focus on one thing at a time and right now it is getting better at Dutch. I despair that I will ever feel truly fluent.
Anyway, enough of that! What I came on for today was because I saw from Tara's post that Helle's birthday is today and I wanted to post something for her because her work has brought me much enjoyment and inspiration. So I dug this painting out of my archives.
I will also tag on here Merry (late) Christmas to all of you and a very happy healthy New Year.

Well, as an addition I tried to sharpen the photo and downsize it, but it is still rather out of focus. But, I am out of time and I still want to post for Helle so here it is my humble offering with all its' flaws.

I rather like the out of focus softness!

This will be a wonderful surprise for our friend Helle, Katherine!!!!! Once again you gave us a very surprising look into your archives, and sure I think that everyone now is curious what's more to discover in your archive, my friend. What I know for sure too is that your Dutch is already very, very well!!! You did a great gift for Helle (as for me, that I am able to admire this, too!)

This is a beautiful gift for her - the softness is wonderful

The softness gives the image a dreamy look like a long ago memory. A beautiful gift for Helle.

What a gorgeous painting this is, Katherine. Love the autumn colors and the birch trunks in the front and I so love the clouds in the sky. Thank you so much for your sweet and very lovely dedi. Thank you :)))

The out of focus is fine, we still see the composition and the hues, and the sense of space, etc. This is watercolor? It has an oil feeling to me, but that may be because of the size, and because we can't see the paper, etc. It's got magic, and the purple hues are beautiful and restful. And the birches, reaching out from the lower left corner, are wonderful 'defining points' of the painting. A lovely gift for Helle, and you write of her perfectly. I know you're very busy, so it's very kind of you to come here to celebrate artists you've met or really liked and admired. And Helle deserves it totally. I'm privileged to be her friend, and I get to see her pieces in email before RR sees them (I feel deeply guilty about that, lol), and it's a real joy. She doesn't always like what she does, but I urge her to post them (a few other people do too); and, lucky for us, she does. She's forever exploring things I just marvel at; and you caught that in your dedi perfectly.
It's a joy to see your art whenever you post it. Your paintings show such sensitivity to space and balance and hue. And texture. A real pleasure to view. (Besides, we don't see enough painting here. I mean real paint-painting.) I want to wish you a wonderful Christmas, a few days passed, and a wonderful New Year; and I hope that your 2017 is blessed, filled with love, and inspiration. Happy 2017, Katherine! (And Happy Birthday, Helle! See, you got a painting! Not to shabby, huh??!)
