Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Both pictures are great and I agree that the second is a better portrayal of Rosie's concern. Until today, I've never know of CCD. beautiful display of canine emotions

Very nice captures Andrea. Has Ralph hang a key on his collar?

Love her expression on both pics. Not always easy when they are being picky as they get older.

Rosie has probably noticed the changes in Ralph and may be concerned or at least curious. But, yes, she is certainly missing the treats. A touching image of the young lady and her big brother.

My old sweet Lab, Pearl, had something similar, only they called it Canine Dementia. Her last month she literally didn't know if she was in or out, up or down. She was 13, quite elderly for a Lab. A poignant foto of sweet Ralph and Rosie.

Yes, one can wonder, what is going on in their heads sometimes :) Such a sweet shot , Andrea.

Oh, the look dogs get when they are evaluating something. I often wish I could read their minds. Mostly they're waiting for a treat, or to go to the park, but sometimes it seems there's more.

back for a few comments tonight and tomorrow. I wish I could do everything I've missed of yours, and I'm gonna try to write shorter so I can comment on more. But again, you know I see everything, and you certainly know how much I love this gallery...Another great dog shot from you, and yes, the flickr version shows Rosie even more concerned. Dogs pick up everything, she must know that Ralph is floating away at these times. Love the shot, and how the throw contrasts and picks up Rosies patterns.
