Description
After attending the orchid show at the beautiful Huntington Botanical Center and Conservatory in beautiful San Marino, California, I visited the Chinese Garden section and captured this stunning view, way back on 10/18/09.
Most pagodas are multitier structures, but all of them at the Garden were simple one story models. And, the rocks on the lake shore are known as Taihu style rocks, which resemble Swiss cheese in structure, and imported from China. More on that later.

This is both beautiful and calming. I am also partial to the reflections on the water. Well done!

forgive me for skipping again, but I want to try to get several days. Another of your framed pagoda shots, and this is as beautiful as the newer one. This is a front-on view, with strong light and really fine detail. And an "open mouth" for an entrance. (It looks like a Chinese dragon, sneering at us, lol.) The taihu rocks are in bleached whites, making strong contrast to the greens; and the greens---esp in the weeping trees and that beautiful water---are lush and luminous here. A lush and shimmering capture, and framed with real panache.
