Description
The famous San Gabriel River Flood Channel, captured 6/8/12 @ 1:10 pm. This particular section, looking south and adjacent to beautiful Rynerson Park, is in the southern portion of beautiful Lakewood, California.
Tons of info about this concrete monster available on Google.

Geee! It looks endless :) I guess it is for rain to go there instead of flooding the roads. And I am glad they make the edges like that, for animals to have a chance to come up from there. But it takes alot og space this way. Good it is USA and not Denmark LOL!

No sign post as to how far to Tipperary. Is this one of the channels flooded when that dam flowed over the other week? My, that was a scary mess! Keep up the good work! :-)

ugly concrete thing I often see in movies! the channel leads to the eye to the horizon and creats a great depth 😀

with sossy, great depth. Unlike the first shot in this series, this emphasizes the concrete alone; and makes the channel even more of an oddity. It's so striking to see that channel there. Because you caught a curve, it breaks up the sameness---with a change in trees and electrical towers: You caught the counterpoint between them all. There's something very restful about these shots too: Some of it's in your light; and some of it's in your composition; and some is in the textures. A true LA image---I don't think we have anything like this in Chicago. I really like this series.
