Description
You may have heard the sad news.. 'Foxy Lady' de Havilland Sea Vixen performed a wheels up landing on return to home base, RNS Yeovilton.
Extra fuel tanks burst into flames but luckily sheered off, aircraft did not. Pilot OK, stayed with aircraft all the way..
Obviously, she will not now be at Shuttleworth show coming Sunday..
Get well Foxy, only big British on circuit!
Repost as lost ALL other shots..

Aw, NUTS! Are there any left of this type in flying order? Lucky you still have this photo - darned good one at that! A big thanks to the pilot bringing her down at great risk for his life. Now, is she repairable so she can fly again? Or will she remain a museum piece? Thanks for the info, and the great photo! Keep up the good work! :-)

Hi, None left flying, last one.. From what I saw it looked in good shape, the long range tanks saved it! And a great pilot.. No idea if repairable but a long job for sure.. Sadly, due to P.C. crash only have two photos of her and those saved from Rendo.. Rob

Renderosity assures us that publication has saved a great many now lost to disinterest or shabby storage conditions.

The RN machinist mates will get her back in the air! Great shot.

Saw this crash on our local news this lunchtime. I hope they can put her back together again - love your shot Rob.

Went to YouTube and watched the wheels up landing. Looks very fixable to me. Of course paying for it is always a big thing when it comes to collector aircraft. Fine photo.
