Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

My! I have an almost exact copy (black / white photo) in a Swedish article on making book shelf model railroads! And I have a similar color photo in an old Model Railroader magazine from the US. Strange how reality can take after the model! Or is it the other way around? This gives me the desire to have a model railroad all over again! And I live in a cramped apartment. Sigh. Difficult to get around that one! Keep up the good work! :-)

OOOOooooooooooo!!!!! I see lots and lots of unused insulators!! (You just knew I'd see those right away...)
A gorgeous and icy cold shot here, Bill! It looks like there's been a recent ice storm here with all the trees coated in sparkling ice. This is gorgeous in B&W!

Very nice capture Bill. The monochrome look works very well.
The power cables look a little worn out.

if it was not for the heat with no ac and no hot water for showers, I would like to return to the Philippines and get pictures in Manila of the tangled mess of electrical wires.
superb capture Bill

Oh, I know where you were standing. At first I had one of those, "Yes, and where was I when you took this?" But I got it. :) That was such a fun day! I LOVE the curved lines. A terrific shot!

When you first posted this, I thought of how luminous your black and white was. It glows in many spots: strong whites on the tracks, the tops of the rr cars, roofs, etc. And the clearing is a beautiful busy break from the lush growth all around it. You don't need much sky here, because the whites of the shot give us plenty of light. And you don't have much sky, just enough to balance it out. A rich lush capture, and the black and white brings out the fleece-y soft feeling to that beautiful background...
and btw, bill, thank you so much for all your comments, you always write from the heart, always reflect on whatever you see and think, are always so kind, and are funny too...I really appreciate them. They help keep me here. Many thanks!
