A fabulous capture of this very beautiful flower but the long name is far too hard to pronounce. I like Christmas Cactus better and it certainly looks to love being at your place.

usually I'm later than most of your fans, but since I'm here the last couple of days, I'm shocking you by commenting the very day you uploaded something! This is beautiful, and a mysterious photo; fabulous, as nancy says: You got light in the center, and shadow around the edges, and the background is dark on top (and light on the bottom)---it seems to be 'emerging' into and out of light, and that gives it real mystery. Always wonderful to see your photography, Barb, and this feels very intimate and special. May such light and emergence be with you always...a very touching capture.

Beautiful macro...I have several of these beauties and some actually bloom twice a year...nearly killed one of the larger plants when it was on my terrace during the hideous heat wave last summer--it's back now but required tons of TLC...
