Description

As always, thank you for all your support. Admiral Dunsany smiled as he'd finished the tour of the stolen yacht, Thieving Wench. "It's hard to believe that was a YT-2000!" He said. "Is there nothing you can't do with the YT series?" "You sound like an advertisement for Corellian Egineering Corporation, Admiral," V'reenda joked. The officer shrugged. "I can't help it if Corellians make the best ships." "You're a Corellian, sir," Saber said smiling. Dunsany nodded. "Proudly so. And I see that you are as well. Or hear that is. You're from Corell City, correct?" "Yes sir. My family converts ships into luxury yachts. In fact, they were the ones who did the work on this ship." "Well that's good to know," A voice said behind them. They turned as The Master entered the observation deck on the new Hunter class frigate. All three bowed their heads as the ancient Sith entered, his black robes swirling about him. "Maybe we can find a use for you doing just that. After your training of course." Saber was surprised at the pleasant nature of the man. But she also sensed much power in him. More power than anyone she'd felt before, with the possible exception of Luke skywalker. "I saw the holo from Tranta's moon you told me of Darth Dunsany," The Master smiled. "And those frigates did make short work of that Victory. I wish we'd been able to get the rest of them. That will be all Admiral," The officer bowed his head and left. The Sith Lord turned his attention to his newest Sith Lady, V'reenda. "Where is Darth Byrne? I thought he was with you." "He's on the yacht, my Master," V'reenda said with a smirk. "My brother is in love with it." "Well, that's too bad for him, because I'm giving it to you. You'll have to remove all of the luxury components, though. I want that ship for smuggling. Both cargo and people," The Master's eyes bore into Saber's own. "Can you do this?" "Easily, Master," She said, bowing her head. The man stared hard at her hair. "How long did it take to do your hair?" "About an hour, Master," Saber responded in confusion. "Remove it. It is vanity. And vanity is a weakness." "Yes, Master," The young woman's heart sank. The Sith Lord glared at her. "No, I'm not going to ask you to scar your face, or disfigure yourself!" He told her angrily. "But vanity is a weakness we exploit in others, and thus we cannot allow it to be used against us. But your beauty can be as much of a weapon as your lightsaber, or the Force. You'll find that it can open doors far easier than brute force." "Yes Master. It will be done." "I know it will," He replied quietly. "Now how long do you think it will take to turn that 2000 back into a freighter?" "Give me three droids and I can have it ready in less than a week. Two if you want to get fancy with the weaponry," Saber was now in familiar territory. And she relished the chance to tinker with the ship. "I think we might have a shipwright, Darth V'reenda," The Master smiled before turning back to the apprentice. "V'reenda will take you to the planet below. There you will meet our aquisitions officer. Tell Vrash what you need, and she'll get it. Go crazy with it. I'm planning on you two doing quite a bit of work together in that thing while you are training, Saber." Gold left her office in the Montal Corporation's High Command as their headquarters were known. For some reason, Gold was happy. Happier than she had been in a long time. And it wasn't just her. She could feel happiness all around the Command Center. Her mother must have closed on that new droid factory that Czerka was so desperate to get rid of. The Montal Corporation needed the increased construction capacity for the MU-SO series they were getting ready to build for the Republic. As Gold walked down the corridor, feeling her way using the Force like the Faceless One had taught her, she began to dance. It was no wanton dance, but instead was a joyous one. She knew that some of the employees were watching her, but she didn't care. She'd not been this happy in years. As she danced, Gold felt four strong Force presences approaching. It was her mother, the baby, and two of her sisters. Gold almost stumbled when she realised who the sisters were. "Would you look at that?" Lily said with a chuckle. "Dancing around like some stripper." "Ha!" Gold laughed off Lily's jab. "There's no way your negative ass is going to drag me down, Red. I'm in too good a mood." "And that good mood is why we're here," Magenta told her. "Well before you tell me about it, put that blaster away." The woman glanced at the twins, Lily and Peenk. The two rolled their eyes. "What are you talking about?" Peenk asked in confusion. "I'm talking about the blaster Mother must have pointed at the two of you to keep you from fighting," Gold was grinning now. "We're just here to deliver some very good news to you," Her mother said quietly. "Did someone bring Matt back to life and kill him again?" Gold asked with a giggle. "Better. We found Zind," Gold stopped dancing. "And Stefan is bringing him home." "Matt had something to do with his disappearance, didn't he?" The short woman was now shaking slightly. "Yes. Zell found a reference on the datapad to a former Imperial slave broker. Stefan had a talk with him and found out where Zind was taken. He was sold to an illicit mining operation Czerka was running." "He's been a slave for three years?" "Well, no," Peenk said. "Stefan said that Zind and three others escaped eight months ago, and have been fighting a guerrilla war against Czerka and their Forn thugs." "Has anyone called his p-parents? They'll be ec-ecstatic," Gold fought to stay calm. "They've been told. And they are very proud of him. As you should be," Her mother whispered to Gold. "Just think," Lily said as she put a hand on her shoulder. "This time tommorrow, you'll be together again." "No, we will not!" Gold told them emphatically. "I'm being admitted into the hospital tonight. The new Federation doctors said they can have the brain damage repaired in two or three days. So you are to keep Zind away from me until it's over. When we meet again, I want to be able to see him. So you three promise me you'll keep him away. Please?" End Chapter 8 Coruscant
