Dominating the ocean, the castle is built in the field of Abbadia according to the plans of Eugène Viollet-le-Duc and Edmond Duthoit in a neo-Gothic style between 1864 and 1879, designed at the request of Antoine d' Abbadie d' Arrast, astronomer and explorer and also anthropologist and linguist, member of the Academy of Science, which dreams about a castle about monitoring center of neo-Gothic style where get involved its passions orientalistes, African and Christian.
