Description
Four Douglas A4F "Skyhawks" out on a "hot" date. As far as I can figure out, this is Bazze's venerable but excellent model of the Navy F version of the A4. The US Marine's version was the "Ultimate Skyhawk", the Skyhawk II M version which had a similar appearance. The success of the nimble fighter is evidenced in it's use in multiple nation's air forces, and was produced to the tune of 2,960 units including trainers. It was used primarily as an aircraft carrier based weapons platform. I've always liked it, it strikes me as the sports car of fighter aircraft because of it's small size and excellent handling characteristics. Amazingly, the first production units were produced at a cost of $860,000 each! ... a lot of bang for the buck.
Douglas A4F "Skyhawk " model available free at colacola.se by Anders Lejczak. This is an oldie but excellent model. Some texture mods and model tweaking.

Great perspective and render!

Yeah, a small but impressive aircraft. I found an example in the deeps of the internet and rebuild it to the three main distinguishable versions. I like this little scooter.

Comme d'habitude, image parfaite.... and the big encyclopedy of aircrafts continue..

This is really beautiful work.

Nice render! Yeah I always liked the A4 very much, even if I think, the "pre-F" versions (without the ugly bump on the back) where way more beautiful.

Very well.

These Bazze models are excellent. There's was a very good "Trop" texture for the 109 over at DA.
Good work Bill.
