Description
Two days ago I heard some music on Swedish radio that reminded me of Jaques Offenbach's opera La Perichole (1868). A part of the opera was used as the theme for a program called "To France with Music", hosted by Jaques Frei (1950's, Philadelphia).
The musical theme often coincided with my mother reading "Ukelele and her new doll". which was a favorite of mine. The music and the story have lived in my mind, stuck together, ever since.
The story was published in the Little Golden Book series in 1951.
Does any one of you have the book? I'd like to purchase it, or scan it. If you have it and don't want to part with it, I'd be very happy to receive a scan of it.

Sorry, I don't have the book, and even though I'm 90 years old, I never heard of it until now, so I can't be of much help. Actually, I didn't know you were into that kind of stuff. Would like to see you posting your cool nudes again.

I had a bunch of Golden Books when I was a wee kid, but I don't remember ever seeing this one. I googled it, and found one on Amazon - for 79.99. Must be one of those collector's items...
