OH!! I MUST say somethig here, although I am not here. Ana dear. This is so beautiful, so expressively. Love her face and the way she sits and her expression. You are so talented and I do hope, this will be one of many more. Your style is so easy to recognize, because you have your own special style. THIS IS SIMPLY WONDERFUL !!! LOVE IT!!!!

Yes, I agree with Helle entirely, Ana...this is superb. And Koosie would have adored this too. I can't tell if you used pen, or pencil or even dark charcoal, or maybe you painted it with black ink...or maybe you used all those mediums...but you captured a woman who is in thought, who is deep and complex, and who has many mysterious emotions. Her face expresses very deep and private thoughts...and her posture is like someone waiting to go somewhere, but she's waiting, stopped for a moment during her journey---ie, "on the way". I love that you drew/painted this on watercolor paper or something similar) because your pigment picks up the ridges and bumps of the paper, which adds drama and texture to you image, which is beautiful. And you also use a number of straight lines, which is a real surprise next to those bold and heavy outlines, and next to your all black sections The black sections are so intense! You have lots of drawing techniques in one piece, here---it's almost "architectural". I just love it, Ana, it's deep and introspective, and yet it captures a single "moment," and you use white space perfectly too. Along with Helle, I think your portraits are some of the finest I've seen anywhere. Great to see you post, and I too hope you can do it more in the future. Esplêndido...

Unlike photography, the art of drawing widens the scope of our imagination and pushes back the limits to it ! Thank you so much for sharing this inspiring and creative character, Ana !
