Description
"They flew through heaven to deliver hell!" Sorry, that popped into my head and I could not get rid of it...sounds like the leader to a pulp novel or B-movie. I had to say it.
The depiction is a flight of Mitsubishi G3M2 twin-engine, medium bomber.
Used primarily by the Japanese Imperial Navy in WW2, the "Nell" as the allies code-named it, carried a crew of either 5 or 7 depending on armament or mission. It served primarily in the medium bomber role, but was used in it's later career as a transport, VIP carrier, and crew trainer. It had a good run from 1937 until 1943. The "Nell" achieved notoriety for it's role at Wake Island, and more famously, the torpedo attack on and sinking of the HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Repulse, along with flights of G4M Bettys. An interesting aircraft which, like all bombers, carried a belly full of death and destruction.
Mitsubishi G3M2 "Nell" model by chipbasschao, modified and with some texture adjustments.
Models set up in Cinema C4d and DazStudio; composed, texture adjustments, lighting, and rendered in Daz Studio; finished in PS Cs3.

That's a fine image and the saying is so good it ought to become a war proverb!
