Description
Ok, first off, I left this big 'cause it was huge to begin with.
(Ie, better seen large...)
Second, this is for Barb (bakapo).
I suddenly realized I don't know Barb's birthday; therefore she's been left out of my yearly dedis---inadvertently! (I've only done one for her.) So I thought it was time to remedy that: Here's a 'just because' dedi.
I met Barb through Lars' gallery (LBJ2---sadly passed on), and was delighted to find all her magic: Most of you know it: her so-thoughtful, classy and beautiful fractals, her delicate and always sensitive photography, and her unique mixed media, among others...all of which she's done in her spare time, of late, because she's been caring for an ailing parent. (I've said many times how much I respect those who care for loved ones.)
To me, her mixed media are magical and always moving 'tales'...though always using realism, she creates these magical worlds with souls who come out of dreams and deep pasts, mixed with all kinds jewels from the present, and all kinds of mystery...there's always mystery and magic swirling around her work...all mixed with her signature sense of grace and visual dance...
But she's also a wonderful soul: She always finds the beauty in our images, always sees our light, and she does it with gentleness and grace...For me, she's been a constant source of affirmation for my crazy, all-over-the-map work and ways, which I've appreciated greatly. She's a genuinely affirming friend.
So here are some spring flowers for you, Barb, from photos from my gallery (sorry, i haven't taken a new photo in months!), all mixed into an i-don't-know-what, because I know how much you look forward to spring---esp in your state where winter moves in for months...They're for all your kindness and soul, your wonderful art, and your love to everyone here (including me). With love and blessings and all kinds of spring renewal, thank you for everything you give, Mark
(I'll get to the rest of your galleries tonight)

Beautiful dedication!

Oh, thank you so much, Mark! This is a nice surprise. You almost guessed it, my birthday is May 1. :) Your thoughtful words touched me. I'm glad you like the things I post, I don't usually start with much of a plan when I sit down to make an image, I just start and see where the scenes in my head take me. The same with fractals and photos. Sometimes my time is limited, as you know, so I can't really plan on posting anything. All the super nice comments and support from you, and everyone here, means a lot much to me. These beautiful, and very colorful, flowers are wonderful! They're bright and beautiful and full of life. Individually they are spectacular but as a set they really are extra special! Thanks so much for thinking of me! ((hugs))

I could imagine flowers this color in Wonderland.
You really have a talent for changing photos on a beautiful way Mark. Not sure what the original pics look like but I bet they are terrific shots. You do take amazing photos. This is a sweet and special gift for dear Barb. I can't recall how I found her many years ago like you with dearly departed friend Lars. I believe that's how we got to know each other way back then. A early birthday wish from me also to her. Did not know her bday myself. We are both the same month on bdays. Great work bro.

OMG, you created a loverly bd rendition for Barb. Barb? A pet name that indicates something hard, small and sharp, reflected in a great dedication displayed in your usual abstracted and extremely colorful way, this time as a garden of flowers - which, when examined carefully, sure look like petunias, or at least in the top part. In any event, I'm not acquainted with Barb or her artwork, but from your description it must be as you said, i.e., top notch, beautiful, graceful, delicate, etc. And she does Fractals, a fabulous genre that is way beyond my present capabilities. Again, you've created another masterful piece of art in acknowledgement of the individual's date of birth.

What a spectacularly colorful birthday wish for Barb (Happy Birthday a little early!), but this is just another example of what a kind hearted and awesome guy you are, Mark! It's folks like you that bring a shining light into our lives to keep us inspired in these dark days. We need a few billion more of you, buddy!
So much wonderful color and motion in this lovely abstract of your photos - well done!

The veins of the leaf on the top image, those colors of it, such an exceptionally profound effect is therein, Mark. I first wanted to say 'hidden', but they speak to the imagination, these colors, precisely because it is in those veins as something light-giving and also light-hearted. In addition, the luminous heart of the blue flowers below. I suspect it is Morningglories, again something you could drink in, as it were. Then the bottom one, a bit more austere, but very cheerful in shape, like dancing in the oval frame. Really a colorful, as well as imaginative whole. And you scattered confetti, so funny, as if you were shouting: Hooray for Barb! Wonderful!
