I have stated before in some of the previous illustrations that I have always been fascinated by the creation of mankind, and how we all came into being. The explanation can be read from the book of Genesis from the Bible or, a lecture on the missing link in some Anthropology classroom. I’m encouraged by it all. On my bookshelf in my office, where I design most of my images, there is a little statuette of a monkey sitting, and pondering at a human skull. The expression on the primate’s face is that of wonder. It is almost as if he is thinking about his own creation, and how he himself came into his own existence. Here in “Reason To Be” I have taken this idea one step further by placing a human in the image. The individual is gazing at the skull of a Chimpanzee. The idea here was to turn the tables ever so slightly. Maybe in sense, we are all searching for a “Reason To Be”.
