Captured 5/30/2019.
Canna (or canna lily, although not a true lily) is a genus of 10 species of flowering plants. The closest living relations to cannas are the other plant families of the order Zingiberales, that is the Zingiberaceae (gingers), Musaceae (bananas), Marantaceae, Heliconiaceae, Strelitziaceae, etc.

(my uncle had an old joke about cannas: "I'll have a canna tuna...") (it wasn't funny...) This is a splendid burst of a shot: The way you captured it, the stalks above the flower look like they're exploding out of the flower, and the stalk below the flower continues that line...With the door back there, it's a really rich capture. And the flower itself is beautifully spotted and furled. Your Wiki quote above lists names I've never heard of in my life! (I can't get over people who actually know these names...) In any case, a wonderful bursting shot of a beautiful leopard-spotted flower. A real beauty!
