Description
A Mitsubishi F1M "Pete" launched from the catapult of the Imperial Japanese Navy battleship Yamato.
The Mitsubishi "Pete" was used on eight battleships and assorted cruisers and service ships during the war in the Pacific Theater as a catapult-launched observation float plane, as well as being used by a number of ground based units. The F1M also served as needed as a fighter, dive bomber, and patrol aircraft. Although slow and of limited range, the Misubishi "Pete" often survived because of its maneuverability.
F1M Pete model from 3dwarehouse by D.James, I believe. Mods and texture adjustments and modifications.
Yokusuka "Glen" really nice model from Briney, with some mods and tex adjustments.
IJN Yamamoto model by Max Romash/Creative Commons, at sketchfab.
Other ships, various.
Models set up in C4d, Vue, PoserPro; composed, texture tweaks, lighting, and render in Vue6Infinite; finished in PS Cs3.

A beautiful job...reminds me of Jack Leynnwood's wonderful 1960s boxtop paintings for Revell plastic model kits.

LOL, no problem. I thought it was a great pic, and not the usual. The wide shot from that angle stopped me, and I’ve seen a ton of pics off the mission. After I read the title, expecting to see the SLO mission, I momentarily did a double take a tried to sort in my head where it was taken from till I realized that I wasn’t looking at SLO at all. I’ve lived on the central coast for the past 40 years. Beautiful place! Great wines! Keep sharing your pics.

Superb render! Excellent work on the ship's wake.
